In chapter four, I learned how to build a map using the different layers and components of ArcCatalog, and ArcMap. In addition I was also able to apply the knowledge of renaming, copying and connecting ArcCatalog to ArcMap to begin the foundation of the application of GIS map making.

Chapter 18
  Typhoon
    In Chapter 18 exercise, I exported a map in two different image file formats. The bitmap is 2,525KB and the JPEG is 379KB. Because I want my web pages to load quickly, I will use the smaller image file below.

Question: I  think it has  low resolution because the picture is based on the raster, which is used to show elevation. Due to the large pixel size, which is noted because the straight features are more angular and not smooth. Raster attempts to look at the overall picture and select a color, and as the image becomes more complicated, the raster has a harder time selecting the color which influences the shape and general appearance of the map.
