Chapter 4
In chapter four, I learned how to build a map using the different
layers
and components of ArcCatalog, and ArcMap. In addition I was also able
to
apply the knowledge of renaming, copying and connecting ArcCatalog to
ArcMap
to begin the foundation of the application of GIS map making.
Chapter 18
In Chapter 18 exercise, I exported a map in two
different
image file formats. The bitmap is 2,525KB and the JPEG is 379KB.
Because
I want my web pages to load quickly, I will use the smaller image file
below.
Question: I think it has low resolution because the picture
is based on the raster, which is used to show elevation. Due to the
large pixel size, which is noted because the straight features are more
angular and not smooth. Raster attempts to look at the overall picture
and select a color, and as the image becomes more complicated, the
raster has a harder time selecting the color which influences the shape
and general appearance of the map.
