Northern & Southern Apartments

To the left of the Imperial Hall are the Northern Imperial Apartments. These apartments would have been used as state apartments for visiting guests. The apartments consist of an Antechamber, an Audience Room, the Red Cabinet Room, the Green Damask Room, Napoleon Room, the First Guest Room Second Guest Room, and the Green Lacquered Room. All of these rooms are very ornate and were decorated under Carl von Schönborn. These rooms had to be very quickly finished for a diplomat could use these rooms as residence on his way to the election in Frankfurt in 1745.

The right wing of the palace is home to the Southern Imperial Apartments and the Court Chapel. The Apartments is where the ruler had his own rooms and other residences used for visits by the emperor and family chambers. Because of the location of Würzburg many important diplomats traveled through and these apartments were always kept ready in case someone needed to stay on their way to Frankfurt. The apartments consist of a series of rooms with the Mirror Cabinet, Antechamber, Audience Room, Venetian Room, and the Gallery (Treffler). The Mirror Cabinet shows the influence of the French style.
