Professional and Personal Growth

Even though I am only in my second year here at Sweet Briar I feel as though I have grown both professionally and personally. I have always been rather shy and reserved but I have learned to overcome that in certain situations when needed. I never would have imagined my first year that would be presenting a paper at MARCUS, yet I did it and it went really well. I have met so many new people and experienced many new things. The Latin immersion retreat this summer put me in a mansion in the middle of nowhere with 30 some complete strangers. I admit that I was very nervous about the whole thing but I made some great friends and learned an immense amount. My courses in college have taught me many applicable skills for my future profession, whatever that may be. I have become a better writer, speaker, thinker, and person.
