I grew up in Maryland with my parents and younger sister. I went to Pot Spring Elementary, where I met my best friend for life. I then attended Ridgely Middle School, where I was introduced to Latin but did not appreciate it until much later. I played the flute from 5th grade through high school. For high school I went to Dulaney High. There I was a member of the Junior Classical League (JCL) and Key Club. I took a total of 7 AP courses in my time there. including English, Latin, Calculus, Statistics, and Environmental Science. I am now in my second year at Sweet Briar College, and I love it here. In fourth grade I started a Mother-Daughter Book club with my mother and some of my friends and their mothers. We continued our roughly monthly meetings all the way until we graduated from high school. I have always been an avid reader and this was full of wonderful experiences. Perhaps my most eccentric hobby is my love of comic books, especially Spider-Man. My mother and I watched the cartoons when I was younger and when the first Spider-Man movie came out in 2001 I began researching more about this character. Yet, I am not socially inept or any other stereotype of the average comic book reader, in fact most people have no idea I have this obsession. This past summer in May of 2007 I had the amazing opportunity to tour much of Italy and Greece for two weeks. As a classics major this was a dream come true. It was incredible to finally see so many of the places I have been reading about in my studies. Some of the places I visited include: Rome, Pompeii, Capri, Sorrento, Delphi, Athens, and Rhodes. You can view pictures from my trip here. If you would like to know more about me or anything I have mentioned here, feel free to contact me!
