In High School I had no aptitude for quantitative courses. The extent of my math career included Algebra 1& 2, and Geometry. I took very few math and science courses, and instead doubled my load in English and History. I had no intentions of taking any math or science intensive courses in college. This changed when my advisor recommended that I take Engineering 110 not only because it would take care of general education requirements, but also because I would have fun through activities such as the Cardboard Boat Regatta. Although there was more math in the course than I had hoped, I handled it relatively well. Engineering 110 has taught me to be patient with math and unfamiliar concepts.
